What is a hack day?

A hack day is about celebrating the hacker community at your school by coming together and building awesome projects together! During the hack day your community will come together to create and build community together over 12 hours. Don't have a hacker community at your school yet? A hack day is the perfect opportunity to kickstart a community at your school. MLH will be providing awesome programming all day long to help celebrate all the Hacker Clubs around the world.

Build!

That great idea you have in the back of your head; Local Hack Day is the perfect time to make it a reality. Local Hack Day is an opportunity for students around the world to come together and Hack.

Celebrate!

Whether this the first event or five thousandth at your school, Local Hack Day is the time to celebrate your hacker communities and get psyched for the upcoming year.

Learn!

Want to learn how to code? A hack day is the perfect chance to work with your fellow classmates to learn how. Additionally we'll be streaming workshops all throughout the event.

What if I've never been to a hackathon before?

A hack day is the perfect chance for you to experience what a Hackathon is like. Regardless of experience level, all are welcome to come learn, celebrate and build! Don't be afraid. Everyone is welcoming and happy to have hackers of all skill levels. Be prepared to learn new things!

Do I need a team?

Each Local Hack Day will start with a team formation workshop to help you find a team if you don't have one. You don't need to have a team to participate though. Teams are limited (currently) to a size of 4.

Where/When?

9:00AM - 9:00PM in Computer Sciences 1240. There will (hopefully) be signs pointing you there.
